BAE SYSTEMS Incorporates Miniature, Multi-Functional Air Data Probe on HERTI UAV

Primary Source of Pitot, Static, Angle of Attack, and Angle of Sideslip on Key Unmanned Vehicle.

PALMDALE, CALIFORNIA USA - BAE SYSTEMS has selected a miniature, multi-functional SpaceAge Control air data probe for the HERTI unmanned air vehicle (UAV). The air data probe gives a full suite of air data parameters in a small package with low power requirements suitable for the 20-hour flight times of the HERTI UAV.

The miniature SpaceAge Control air data probe offers key benefits over traditional and in-house developed air data solutions including low mass (6 ounces) and single-point total pressure, static pressure, angle-of-attack, and angle-of-sideslip data gathering. The product, initially developed in concert with NASA, addresses the unique requirements of unmanned aerial vehicles and light aircraft to include deiced pitot-static capability, small packaging, and easy installation.
